Magnalia Foundation Inc

The Foundation sponsored and organzied a three day overnight religious silent retreat for over 40 men to foster and develop their character and spirituality. The silent retreat includes daily Mass services, ten meditations preached by a priest, talks on spiritual virtues by laymen, praying the rosary, opportunities for silent prayer, spiritual counseling and spiritual reading. Expenses were room and board for the 40 men.

The Foundation sponsors several outreach activities: Epiphany Party which is an outreach activity in a social setting, Christ on Main, Super Saturdays for young professioanls, and the Point-St. Raphael activities.

The Foundation offsets the travel and lodging expenses of local middle school (6th-8th grade) boys, their counselors and chaperones to attend a week long summer leadership camp in Eastern Pennsylvania to foster and develop their leadership abilities, and their character, spirituality and fellowship. The leadership camp is an action-packed, one week overnight summer camp for entering 6th - 8th grade boys. The camp aims to help boys develop the skills and virtues necessary to be leaders. Each boy os placed on a team with about 10 other campers with whom he shares a cabin, attends activities, and competes in games. Every morning, campers attend a talk on a specific virtue, as well as classes on journalism, nature studies, great Americans, or military history. In the afternoons, boys compete in football, basketball, soccer, and dodgeball, followed by a refreshing swim. The Foundation sponsored and organzied monthly evening silent prayer meetings each lasting several hours for 20-40 men to foster and develop their character, spirituality and fellowship. Each prayer meeting includes two preached meditations by a priest, a talk on a spiritual virtue by a layman, an opportunity for confession and spiritual direction with a priest, a time for a silent prayer, and a get together at the end of evening. Expense covered the use of a chapel and classroom in a Church.
