To own and operate a nonprofit center in los angeles in support of its sponsoring organization, mexican american legal defense and educational fund (maldef), and primarily irc section 501(c)(3) organizations dedicated to serving the minority communities within los angeles. Some of the tenants are commercial but mpmc is not providing services and such rental activity is excluded from unrelated trade or business income as substantially all of the property's use is directly related to the mpmc's exempt purpose.
