PRINTMAKING CLASSES:Classes is one of the foundational programs of Manhattan Graphics. The classes cover basic printmaking techniques such as intaglio, relief, screenprint and lithography as well as specialized, advanced, creative, and innovative approaches. Manhattan Graphics offers classes throughout the year in terms of fall, spring, and summer. The core classes, which are classes that provide extended, advanced instruction in the basic techniques are offered in the fall, spring, and summer terms. The core classes also include shorter workshops that build on these skills. Shorter classes which are more exploratory and reach a wider audience are offered in the summer. During the year ended June 30, 2024, Manhattan Graphics delivered 47courses in its online and in-person classes with total enrollment of approximately 204 artists.

Outreach:Outreach consists of several programs (Exhibitions, Artist Talks, Scholarships and Visiting Printmaker Workshop) that reach audiences beyond the studio walls of Manhattan Graphics. Exhibitions -These consist of solo member shows, exchange exhibitions, juried shows, and its annual member show in two gallery spaces. During the year ended June 30, 2024, Manhattan Graphics held seven in-person exhibitions with 348 artists participating. There were no online exhibits. Artist Talks -These involve the regular invitation of artists to Manhattan Graphics studio to discuss their current practice with the public in gatherings that allow a free exchange of ideas. This program is funded by grants. Manhattan Graphics has temporarily moved the Artist Talks online due to the Covid-19 pandemic. During the year ended June 30, 2024, Manhattan Graphics hosted Artist Talks featuring 9 guest speakers, with 152 people participating. Scholarship-Manhattan Graphics awards 11 scholarships every year to artists who are new to the studio but whose financial situation precludes access. During the award term, each selected artist receives a tuition waiver for class (one long course or two short courses), unlimited open workshop time, access to storage, reimbursement for materials cost up to $125, as well as membership at Manhattan Graphics Center for one year. There were 9 scholarship students in fiscal year 2024. Visiting Printmaker Workshop-The Visiting Printmaker Workshop is an outreach youth education program. Manhattan Graphics teaching artists provide printmaking instruction onsite at Manhattan public high schools, together with the students' classroom art teacher. The sessions are supplemented by a field trip to a cultural institution. In fiscal year 2024, groups visited the main branch of the New York Public Library to view prints in the Polonsky Exhibition of The New York Public Librarys Treasurers, as well as for an overview of the Picture collection, and to the Manhattan Graphics Center workshop space where the students are given a demonstration of the printmaking techniques they use in the classroom. The program is entirely supported by grant funds. During fiscal year 2024, Manhattan Graphics Center provided five Visiting Printmaker workshops with students at The High School of Arts and Design with 110 students participating.
