Mission
MLKCC seeks to honor Dr. Kings admonition of service to the community by sponsoring the Dr Martin Luther King Jr. celebration and administering the MLKCC and the Dennis R. Edwards Memorial Scholarships to deserving high school graduates participating in various worthy community uplift projects and encouraging its members to take roles in numerous civic charitable and cultural endeavors.

MLKCC hosted a series of impactful events to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr leading up to the Dr. King holiday. These community focused activities included a musical concert community worship service a commemorative banquet a vibrant parade and festival and engaging poster and essay contest for the youth. These events were designed to celebrate Dr. Kings vision of service unity and equality while inspiring the community and empowering young individuals to reflect on his enduring impact.
MLKCC sponsored and contributed to various community outreach projects including support to food pantries turkey donations distribution of toiletries senior citizens health screening and recognition day school backpacks give-away hurricane Hellene relief efforts donation of fans to Actions donation to the Freeport Police department Blue Santa program and national night out.
MLKCC sponsored a Icode camp for girls to help them learn how to write codes for computer programs
MLKCC awarded 7 scholarships to high school students
MLKCC awarded winners in the Dr. King holiday poster and essay contest with a small monetary gift.
