Each year, the maryland asphalt association and the maryland department of transportation state highway administration host the annual paving conference. This event averages 500 attendees per year. The paving conference offers relevant programming to get the asphalt industry ready for a successful paving season. The day of education concludes with a showcase of paving best practices: the maryland excellence in paving awards.

The maryland asphalt association works throughout the year to inform its members of potentially intrusive legislation, protecting the industrys market share in the state. Maa leaders also meet with maryland legislators and key administrative staff to educate them on the asphalt industry, its needs and its vital impact in the state.
