Government relations - as each generation is further removed from the farm, it's increasingly important to be active in the legislative and regulatory arenas. Maryland farm bureau works with local, state, and national lawmakers and regulators to assure that agriculture's issues are raised and addressed. Mfb also works with individual members who need help with a variety of issues including zoning, water, drainage, regulatory compliance, etc.

Support of county farm bureaus - the farm bureau structure at the county level is all voluntary. Individual members who are farmers or people who have a passion/love for agriculture make up the boards and committees that carry out the work at the county level. Mfb provides support to the county farm bureaus through staff who assist them with program planning, leadership development, training, membership solicitation, etc.
