Annual convention & expo: the council's 49th annual convention & expo: envision the possibilities brought together a sold-out crowd of over 1,100 human services professionals and supporters for a full day of speakers, awards, workshops, panels and scholarship presentations. A powerful keynote speaker and state officials joined attendees to provide messages of inspiration, hope and support. The event showcased 34 workshops; featured more than 60 exhibitors; conferred 13 awards of excellence to individuals, organizations, government officials and businesses whose contributions have improved the human services sector; and honored other organizations with peer provider awards. The annual business meeting is held to complete the corporate business of the providers' council. Business conducted includes electing officers and directors of the corporation, accepting the treasurer's report, sharing annual reports to the board of directors, and attending to such other business as may come before the meeting. The meeting is open to the public, though only the membership can vote. Upon conclusion of the meeting, there is typically a luncheon forum and presentations.
The collaborative: the collaborative is a joint project between the council and three other not-for-profit organizations which was established to ensure that chapter 257, of the acts of 2008, is implemented and administered by the state in accordance with the "letter and spirit of the law."
Education and training: the council continued to provide affordable learning opportunities to its members in 2024. This year, more than 2,000 individuals participated in the council's educational offerings, including nearly 250 supervisors and managers who enrolled in the council's two supervisor trainings: success as a new supervisor and the certificate in supervision series. In 2024, the council hosted 39 trainings/workshops, 12 executive roundtables, 12 hr and training leader roundtables and 19 educational webinars.
The council provides administrative support to its related organization - human services providers charitable foundation, inc.
