Mission
To educate mathematically talented secondary and tertiary students in mathematical thinking and writing. The means of providing such education includes, but is not limited to, establishing summer programs for instructing such students.
Programs
3 programs
MathILy-Er: Similar to MathILy with slightly younger students and who are earlier in their mathematical development. Number of students enrolled was 30 in a 5-week program of courses, presentations and leisure activities. Eight trainees (staff members) also benefitted.
MathILy-EST: A Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) focused on beginning college students. Number of students enrolled was 9 in an 8-week program focused on a program of research, presentations, interactions with the MathILy students and leisure activities. One trainee (staff member) also benefitted.
FaBraC: a stand-alone course offered to students who have completed the MathILy summer program and who are interested in studying additional mathematical topics. It was determined that FaBraC would not run in fall, 2024, due to scheduling conflicts among the students who wished to participate. FaBraC will continue to be offered if enough student interest exists and scheduling is feasible.
