Shoreline access secure increased public access to shoreline areas. Research relevant laws relating to public shoreline access and compile a comprehensive historical inventory for existing countywide shoreline access areas for each district. Draft policies and advocate for legislative proposals that result in increased public shoreline access. Attend environmental, planning, cultural and conservation-related conferences and participate in long range planning processes with the local government. Collaborate with county and state elected officials and private landowners to advocate for ada accessibility to shoreline areas and environmentally appropriate, culturally sensitive, community-based responses to climate change, sea level rise, and coastal erosion. Produce social media awareness campaigns and organize public outreach efforts to educate the public on existing shoreline access rights. Organize and participate in community beach cleanups, planting and dune restoration projects. Form and facilitate district advisory working groups for restoration projects.

Agriculture & food security promote local food security and increased agricultural activities in the county of maui to benefit low-income and underserved communities. Form and facilitate advisory groups to increase local food initiatives that increase support for rural food insecure areas. Assist local food producers to understand and meet community consumer needs. Research relevant laws relating to agriculturally based small businesses that support local communities and draft policies that support operations and increased food security. Attend community meetings, conferences, workshops and seminars that support educational growth for the agricultural sector and produce social media awareness campaigns that educate the consumer public and small local farming operations on food security issues surrounding low income groups. Organize public meetings and collaborate with government officials and private landowners to advocate for increased food production that will benefit maui countys most underserved populations. Outreach to public, community organizations and local municipalities to design and run a series of resilience hubs as centers of preparedness: information and community outreach, resource deliveries and distribution; response efforts: conducting needs and damage assessments; and recovery services: interviews with residents, and collecting data.
