Mission

Medic one foundation saves lives by improving pre-hospital emergency care. Since 1974, we have invested $37 million in paramedic training, research to improve patient outcomes, equipment to help fire departments save more lives, emt scholarships, special projects to improve pre-hospital emergency care, and cpr/first aid training for citizen responders. We rely solely on contributions to accomplish our lifesaving mission.

Programs

3 programs

Community outreach - the foundation engaged the public through educational presentations, speaking events, and community fairs to raise awareness about emergency services and the role of medic one foundation. Program-related materials such as first aid kits and emergency preparedness items were distributed to support community readiness. The foundation's display van visited youth events and organizations to educate and inspire future responders. Outreach also included the development and distribution of service-related publications to further community education and engagement.

Expenses: $428KGrants: $36K

Cpr & first aid training - the foundation conducted over 200 classes, equipping more than 3,000 individuals with the skills and confidence to respond in a life-threatening emergency. In addition to community-based trainings, the foundation expanded its youth cpr and first aid program, partnering with local schools and youth organizations to empower the next generation of life-savers.

Expenses: $344K

Additional program support the foundation advanced several initiatives to strengthen the region's emergency medical response. It awarded 18 emt scholarships, donated 19 automated external defibrillators (aeds) to organizations throughout the northwest, and promoted the pulsepoint mobile app to increase bystander cpr and aed response to sudden cardiac arrest. The foundation also supported first responder mental health through peer support initiatives and provided essential emergency and training equipment to eight local fire departments. These efforts reflect the foundation's comprehensive approach to improving pre-hospital emergency care.
