Medicine Bear is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering system-involved youth and underserved communities through culturally rooted art mentorship and traditional practices We provide visual art programs artist apprenticeships and rites of passage experiences that center Indigenous and Latino heritage Our work creates spaces of healing identity and community-building by connecting youth with emerging artists cultural leaders and opportunities to reclaim their stories We support youth both in detention and upon reentry by offering consistent trauma-informed and culturally responsive programming that fosters pride purpose and belonging
