Mission
Mental Health Minnesota is the voice of lived mental health experience. We carry that declaration forward as we work to advance mental health and well-being for all, increase access to mental health treatment and services, and provide education, resources and support across Minnesota.
Programs
6 programs
Minnesota Warmline - a safe and confidential phone line for people who are working on their recovery and/or seeking support. The Warmline uses a peer-to-peer approach, and is answered by trained staff of Certified Peer Specialists who have first-hand, personal experience dealing with a mental health condition.
Peer Support/Homeless Outreach In 2024, Mental Health Minnesota received a grant to provide peer support and homeless outreach services on Metro Transit trains through a pilot project. Peer support outreach staff connect individuals with housing, mental health and substance use treatment, and other needs.
Education - serves to educate individuals living with mental illness, their families, educators in secondary schools and colleges, students and youth, members of faith communities and synagogues, employees and employers, professional providers, and the general public in order to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness, encourage mental health early screening and treatment, and to promote mental health and wellness and suicide prevention.
Mental Health Helpline - connects people with mental health treatment, services and support. The Helpline provides information and referrals about services across Minnesota, and provides tools and resources that support mental health recovery and wellness.
Public Policy/Advocacy - takes place at the legislative and governmental levels in order to influence public policy and funding of mental health care in Minnesota; on the County level through "grassroots" activities; in the private sector with managed health plans.
Online Mental Health Screenings - screening tool for common mental health conditions are offered on the organization's website, which can be completed via computer or mobile device. Thousands of people complete these screenings each year, and those who screen positive are directed immediately to local resources for support.
