Mission

Mercy house exists to empower vulnerable families in jesus' name by creating opportunities that provide hope.

Programs

Mercy house global assists vulnerable families in developing countries by teaching them artisan trades as well as creating distribution avenues for their goods to be sold. Providing the families with reliable income for their families prevents homelessness, food scarcity, and becoming victims of human trafficking, and allows them to help support their own families and communities. Mercy house global sells the artisans' products in online and physical retail stores, as well as through five subscription clubs called mhg clubs. There are four monthly clubs consisting of more than 2000 subscribers, and one quarterly club which has a subscriber base of about 900. The items featured in these clubs empower women from all over the globe, consisting of over 50 groups in approximately 30 countries and countless artisans. For these vulnerable families, the support of mercy house global and the sales of their products is helping them be able to provide for themselves and their families with dignity.

The local hope program supports vulnerable families (refugees, trafficking survivors) by providing encouragement, training, and education as they settle into their new lives in houston, texas. In 2024, mercy house global conducted more approximately 100 in-home visits to 2 refugee families, assisting them with tasks such as job searches, healthcare, and school registration. The local hope program welcomes over 35 refugees and their children to our weekly esol classes that are free of charge, as well as our quarterly empowerment lunches that help build skills and community. The esol ministry team practices conversational english through weekly esol classes, meal and grocery assistance through a partner food pantry, and answers questions about daily life in america. Two women who are refugees participated in the product training program and learned new skills that they used to support their families. In 2024, mercy house global prepared to welcome our second in-house human trafficking survivor to participate in the local hope program. She is expanding her artisan skills, as well as her personal and developmental skills, which will be necessary as she plans to achieve her future goals and dreams. In 2024, mercy house global also expanded our women's empowerment lunches to include survivors of trafficking, and we have served approximately 20 women at each luncheon. These luncheons help build transferable skills, community partnership,s and networking opportunities among the women.
