Metro United Way's mission is to improve lives and our community by engaging people to give, advocate and volunteer.

Programs

4 programs

STRONG HOUSEHOLDS: Approximately 250 individuals participated in workforce coaching. Approximately 22,000 individuals were connected to resources in our community through our 211 helpline. Several households in Southern Indiana were helped through the home ownership process. Over 500 households were helped with housing or rental assistance. MUW continued to assist families, helping them to avoid utility interruption. Approximately 65,000 people were supplied with food.

EQUITABLE COMMUNITY: Over 160 scholarships provided to young men. Several nonprofit organizations participated in MUW's Black Love Philanthropic Partnership. MUW continued its very successful Beyond Buzzwords speaker series as well as its racial wealth gap simulations which has been well received by both individuals and corporations.
