Mission
To promote fair housing throughout the state of wisconsin by combating illegal housing discrimination and by creating and maintaining racially and economically integrated housing patterns.
Programs

Fair housing outreach and education program - provides presentations and seminars to community-based organizations, social service agencies, educational institutions, advocacy groups, neighborhood organizations, religious congregations, and the general public. In 2024, the organization conducted 83 fair housing presentations, reaching over 1,500 individuals. Over 230 housing providers attended the 25 training seminars mmfhc conducted in 2024; collectively, these individuals own or manage thousands of rental units. Outreach and education staff also conducted over 850 community outreach contacts, distributed more than 30,000 informational materials, and provided information and referral services to almost 500 callers with non-fair housing inquiries. Mmfhc staff conducted outreach and education activities and all of wisconsin's 72 counties in 2024.
Inclusive communities program - provides technical assistance to community organizations, developers, and local policy makers on inclusionary housing policies and the promotion of racial and economic integration. The organization provides assistance with consumers' access to pro-integrative housing choices and conducts research, analysis, and documentation of fair and affordable housing opportunities and impediments. In 2024, inclusive communities staff produced new outreach materials highlighting the importance of housing consumers' fair housing rights and locational choices, participated in numerous housing advocacy coalitions, and worked toward the 2025 relaunch of mmfhc's opportunity mke housing mobility program.
Fair lending program - promotes fair lending and foreclosure prevention and seeks to eradicate predatory lending practices and mortgage rescue scams. The organization monitors financial institutions' fair lending practices and community reinvestment act activities, and provides technical assistance and education for lenders, partner agencies, and the general public. Fair lending program staff attended over 160 community meetings and events in 2024.
