Testing & exams: ic&rc exams - qualifying exams for mcbap/ic&rc credentials include alcohol and drug counselor (adc), advanced alcohol and drug counselor (aadc), prevention specialist (ps), clincial supervision (ccs), and peer recovery (pr). Exams are taken either in a computer-based testing format at a testing center or in a remote location.

Development plans: people becoming employed at a licensed program providing substance use disorder services, but do not yet hold the speciality certification from mcbap that is required under a state of michigan funded contract, state licensing, by another payer source or quality assurance source, or employer that requires it. An approved mcbap registered development plan is a time-limited, one-time opportunity to gain employment in these services prior to having completed the needed professional specialty certification. The plan is an agreement between employee and their employer.
