Mission
Mna's purposes are: (a) to acquire, maintain, and protect natural areas that predominantly contain examples of michigan fauna, flora, geologic features, and other components and aspects of the natural environment of michigan, including habitat and natural communities for fish, wildlife and plants, in the state of michigan. (b) to carry on a program of conservation study and education.

Fye 2024 activities included providing environmental mini-grants for k-12 students; ecological research projects at sanctuaries conducted by university students and faculty; and specific programs through statewide public/partnerships such as the michigan vernal pools partnership.
