Mission

Michigan roundtable for just communities is a racial and social justice organization whose purpose is eradicate racism, discrimination, and systemic inequities by cultivating multigenerational just and beloved communities.

Programs

1 program

The organization holds monthly meetings with police and community members to move beyond the past 25 years' work of trust building to take a much deeper look at racism dwelling within the officers, police departments and society. The organization also works with communities as they seek to address their diversity, inclusion and equity challenges. Our strategic plan has us doubling down on working to end racism, with an investment in detroit's most economically challenged neighborhoods, centering that work in the 48208-zip code with a collaboration with community movement builders to tailor organizing around the voices of the neighbors. The organization has received grants from three major foundations to develop this work. The organization also has a contract with the city of livonia to help develop the capacity to address their lived history of racism, manifesting itself in a range of challenges including racial profiling.
