Mission

The organization provides educational interpretive hikes to local 3rd grade students. 24 classes of students were taken into the Sutter Buttes to learn about the origins of the mountains and the wildlife that live or have lived in the buttes. 8 of these classes received partial or complete financial assistance to be able to bring the students in. In excess of 600 students and their chaperons took part in these classroom field trips. in addition, over 900 hikers were provided access to the Sutter Buttes as part of our charter hikes, open hikes, or Sunset Serenade event. The Sutter Buttes are 95% privately owned. Our group works with the landowners to provide access to the public.
