Senior employment specialist this program, funded by the illinois department of aging, provides advocacy, coordination, referrals, and training to persons 55 years of age and older. Systems development contract this program, funded by the illinois department on aging, provides for a community care program specialist, who acts as an area agency liaison between the illinois department of aging and the case coordination units and vendors. This specialist has primary responsibility for administrative support of the area agency to the illinois department on aging community care program. Adult protective services the agency has applied for and received a contract with the illinois department on aging to perform assessment, casework, follow-up, and early intervention services for abused and neglected citizens 18 years and older. Senior health assistance program, mippa, senior health insurance program, and benefits access assistance the agency has applied for and received a grant with the illinois department on aging to assist in the preparation and filing of benefits access forms and assist in the preparation and filing of medicare d plans for elderly and disabled citizens who meet the necessary requirements. Senior medicare patrol the agency has applied for andreceived grants subcontracted from age options, inc. Area agency to bring attention to the various fraud and related issues for medicare/medicaid. Veteran-directed home care veteran-directed home care, also known as illinois vip or veterans independence program, uses a program coordinator to assist veterans to design and direct their own service package as approved by the va medical centers. The veteran or their authorized representative chooses the services that best fits their needs and is the employer of record, hiring and supervising all in-home workers.
