Mission

The milwaukee community crossroads (mcc) cultivates a vibrant milwaukee community by helping individuals, families and neighborhoods access basic needs, overcome barriers and connect to opportunities.

Programs

5 programs

Violence prevention: mcc takes a holistic, long-term approach to inhibit violence in our community that prevents and mediates conflicts while offering support to youth both in schools and out in the community. We strive to not just interrupt violence but also help young people thrive with safe, healthy, and hopeful futures.

Expenses: $1.5M

Older adults: mcc feeds both the physical and mental growth of older adults through healthy meals and a variety of activities. They remain healthy, in their homes and vitally connected to the communities that rely on their wisdom and experience.

Expenses: $589K

Emergency food pantry: mcc is full-choice pantry, where community members can choose foods to meet their dietary needs and tastes. We feed over 500 adults and children each month while teaching families to become self-sufficient. We provide a 3 - 5 day supply of culturally appropriate emergency food, offering a holistic approach to health, wellness and nutrition. We also offer commodity supplemental food program and farmer's market vouchers, and communicate in spanish, hmong and laotian.

Expenses: $569K

Community building - muskego way forwardmuskego way is a block of neighborhoods between the historic old south side neighborhood that spans from 16th street to 27th street and greenfield ave to becher street. But it's much more than just a grid on a map. It's a collection of families, homes and businesses that inspire and create a community. It's a program connecting residents, partners and resources through asset-based development, a resident-driven advisory team, block watch groups and other organizations to advance revitalization of the community.

Expenses: $174K

Youth development: youth programming at kosciuszko community center provides a safe place during out-of-school time for young people ages 11-17 to build positive mentoring relationships, engage in dynamic hands-on learning, and explore civic engagement and future careers.forest home avenue safe place offers a safe, nurturing environment, with positive role models, and caring adults for children ages 4-11 during out-of-school time and during the summer.
