Mission
The mpca was founded in 1953 to allow for closer relationships between police chiefs in missouri and to foster high professional standards for all law enforcement officers. Since its conception, mpca's mission has grown to include: 1.develop closer official and personal cooperation between chiefs, law enforcement and governmental agencies. 2.propose, support and provide information on legislation relative to the betterment of law enforcement. 3.promote professionalism, training, and public relations. 4.disseminate to its members timely information relative to law enforcement. 5.sponsor scholarships, special olympics law enforcement torch run and other community betterment activities.

The association holds several law enforcement training seminars relating to different law enforcement topics.
Grant funds are expended to purchase new equipment and devices for law enforcement agencies throughout the state of missouri in order to better serve their areas.
The missouri police chiefs association holds several conferences each year,including the annual convention. The conferences held are related to training programs and current issues in law enforcement. There are approximately 700 attendees.
