To improve the quality of life today for people affected by mitochondrial disease through support, education, empowerment, and advocacy initiatives and to engage the community for better care and awareness about the disease.

Patient & family suppport - mitoaction provides free practical support services to individuals and caregivers affected by mitochondrial disease, helping them navigate medical, educational, and daily living challenges. Key resources include mito411, a toll-free peer support hotline; weekly and monthly support groups; the monthly mito expert series featuring clinicians and researchers; and access to educational materials, tools, and resources through the mitoaction website. Additional support includes online discussion forums, on-demand podcasts and videos, and family connection events. These services offer direct guidance, credible information, and accessible peer support.

Mitoaction provides programs that improve the qulity of life for children and families affected by mitochondial disease. Through partnerships with camps in the seriousfun children's network, the matthew harty camer fund covers the full cost for children with mitochondrial disease to attend medically supported sumer camps. The program also offers annual scholarships to graduating students who have been affected by mitochondrial disease or are pursuing studies related to special needs populations. Additionally, through delia's wish, the mitoaction collaborates with give kids the world village to offer wish trips for eligible children and their families.
