Housing - mmi provides a wide variety of housing counseling services aimed at saving homes and building communities. Foreclosure prevention counseling assists those who have fallen behind on their mortgage payments to keep their home and avoid the cost and credit rating damage associated with foreclosure. Rental counseling provides guidance and solutions to those who are at risk of eviction. Mmi's project porchlight disaster recovery program provides immediate and long-term support to consumers impacted by natural disasters and those experiencing economic disruption caused by the pandemic. Post-modification counseling is a long-term financial coaching program designed to support long-term repayment success for consumers who have previously fallen delinquent on their mortgage. Reverse mortgage counseling educates seniors on the benefits, consequences, options, and process of obtaining a home equity conversion mortgage, while reverse mortgage default supports seniors who are at risk of default due to lapsed property tax or insurance payments. Mmi assists potential home buyers by educating them on the costs and responsibilities of home ownership. Borrower success, mmi's post-purchase program, provides new homeowners with the education and information needed to support successful homeownership. More than 9,200 homebuyers per month receive phone calls, text messages or email from mmi providing timely, meaningful information to assist them in remaining current on their mortgage, understanding the responsibilities of homeownership, and providing resources for those who are struggling. As a u.s. Department of housing and urban development (hud) approved provider of homeownership-counseling services, mmi affirmatively furthers fair housing through making consumers aware of discriminatory practices, making all programs and activities accessible to persons with disabilities, and making available language assistance services to persons with limited english proficiency. Funding is provided by the hud and through contractual arrangements with mortgage servicers and government-sponsored enterprise (gse). In 2024, mmi provided nearly 29,000 housing-specific sessions. Mmi provided homeownership education on the topics of home buying, loss mitigation, rental rights, and eviction prevention to 10,238 consumers via in person, live online, and self-paced education in the mmi university, framework and ehome america platforms in 2024.

Debt resolution - money management international (mmi) launched debt resolution services in november of 2024. These services provide consumers with access to a structured and supportive alternative to bankruptcy through negotiated debt settlements. Consumers facing financial hardship are guided through a comprehensive consultation process with a certified debt specialist who helps assess their financial situation, evaluate resolution options, and create a customized settlement strategy. For those enrolled in the debt resolution program (drp), the organization works directly with creditors to negotiate reduced payoff amounts on unsecured debts, often significantly lowering the total balance owed. Clients make a single monthly program deposit, which is used to fund settlements and cover low administrative fees. The program includes legal support services where appropriate, ensuring clients are represented in cases of creditor litigation. This added protection helps stabilize the consumer's financial situation while settlements are negotiated. All drp team members are required to complete extensive training in debt negotiation, consumer rights, and hardship verification. Ongoing financial education and support are provided throughout the duration of the program to help clients rebuild financial health and avoid future hardship. Being that the program launched in late 2024, activity has been minimal and restricted as we continue to develop and improve our processes to best fulfill our mission.
