Mission
The Monongahela River Trails Conservancy (MRTC) maintains and develops a 48-mile trail system on former railroad tracks in the north central area of West Virginia.
Programs

Labor and materials to install lighting and directional, totem and specials features signage at Foundry St.
Repaving the Mon River Trail North near the town of Star City.
Preparation of the surface of the Deckers Creek Trail for future resurfacing
Expansion of parking area at the Opekiska trailhead to enable more users to access the trail south of Morgantown.
Expansion of the parking area at the VanVoorhis trailhead to enable more users to safely access the trail north of Morgantown.
Purchase and install new playground equipment in Star City adjacent to the rail trail. This is a multi-year project.
Installation of new lighting on the Caperton Trail in downtown Morgantown. This is a multi-year project.
Handmade Market event held to promote trail use and the arts in the local community.
Provide shelter and equipment needed for volunteer use in trail maintenance
Reconstruction/resurfacing the trail from the Opekiska trailhead to the trail end at Pricketts Fort. This is a multi year project.
