Policy analysis and educationit is critical of uios to keep up-to-date on policy developments at the local, state and national level impacting their operations. It is further necessary for uios to educate policy-makers and others. This program consists of researching, summarizing and distributing information concerning state and federal policies impacting uios and policy initiatives of national organizations impacting uios; educating and informing policy-makers, governmental agencies, funders, cms contractors, the insurance industry, and other community health providers about uios; and supporting or opposing, within 501(c)(3) constraints, policy proposals impacting uios.

Training and technical assistancetraining and technical assistance for uio staff is critical for maintaining organizational effectiveness and longevity. Trained and effective staff will better serve montana's urban indian population. This program consists of identifying training needs of uios, including financial and organizational management, cultural training, workforce development, grant compliance; securing funding and trainers to provide training in identified areas; and providing technical assistance directly or through contracted professional assistance as needed.

Workforce pipeline programthe workforce program aims to strengthen workforce development for urban indian organizations (uios) by focusing on key areas. It will build partnerships with stakeholders, create a sustainable recruitment pipeline, and engage local schools to develop career pathways for native american youth in healthcare. The plan includes outreach, networking, and resource sharing, and offers clinics access to workforce development resources. Progress will be monitored through metrics and regular evaluations, with adjustments made based on feedback. The plan is divided into quarterly milestones to ensure timely progress and continuous improvement.

Sustainability and shared resource developmentmaintaining the sustainability of the uios is critical for the health and other needs of montana's urban indian population, which is an underprivileged and underserved population. Mcuih works to identify and secure grant funding and other financial resources for its member uios; identify shared professional and specialty staffing needs of uio's and assist in securing funding for the same (e.g. Psychiatrists, pediatricians, grant writers, legal assistance); and identify and procure mutually beneficial programs and services (e.g. Data collection, group purchasing, pharmacy services, group health insurance).
