The montana photonics and quantum alliance is a non-profit organization that serves as a hub for montana's optics, photonics, and quantum companies, entrepreneurs, laboratories, and universities to commercialize, grow and sustain globally leading organizations that create high quality jobs and economic opportunity in montana.

Programs

Professional education and training:mpqa provides professional education, technical training, and outreach to strengthen montana's optics, photonics, and quantum workforce. Activities include in-person workshops, best-practice sharing through the mpqa quality alliance training website, and collaboration with academic institutions to align education with industry needs. Mpqa completed the msu workforce report under a federal subaward, providing a statewide assessment of quantum workforce needs to guide future education and training programs.

Economic and workforce development:mpqa drives economic growth and job creation by supporting montana's photonics and quantum industries through research, partnerships, and strategic development. Mpqa served as a sub-awardee on the qcore quantum economic assessment, evaluating montana's quantum landscape and producing strategic recommendations for workforce and business development. Mpqa also leads as a direct awardee of the eda tech hub grant to help establish a photonic integrated circuit development capability in montana, strengthening the domestic supply chain for critical technologies.
