Youth Development Our Y is committed to nurturing the potential of every youth. We believe that they all deserve the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve. That's why we help young people develop the skills, values, and relationships that lead to positive behaviors, better health, and educational achievements. Our Y programs, such as Summer Day Camp, Group Swim Lessons, Junior High Fitness Class, Lifeguard Certification Classes offer a range of experience that enrich cognitive, social, physical, and emotional growth. Our expenses include subsidies and direct financial assistance that makes participation possible for over 50% of the youth we engage.
Social Responsibility Our Y believes in giving back and supporting our neighbors. We've been listening and responding to our community's needs for more than 20 years. Y programs, such as TogetherTM, and our support by being involved with community events, such as the Community Thanksgiving Dinner, Live Well Montgomery County Community Garden, Meals On Wheels, participation in blood pressure clinics and holding an annual free community winter holiday celebration are examples of how we support our neighbors to affect change, bridge gaps and overcome obstacles. In 2022, we engaged over 200 Y members, participants and volunteers in activities that strengthen our community and pave the way for future generations to thrive.
