Community benefit activities included are activities carried out to improve community health, educational programs, subsidized clinical services operating at a loss, research, cash and in-kind donations, community building activities, and community benefit operations as allowed for all these categories under the guidelines of the catholic health association. These programs most often support the chna/chip and have appropriate documentation ensure they are meeting the standards and supporting our mission to extend the healing ministry of jesus christ.

Charity care financial assistance is free or discounted health care services provided to persons who cannot afford to pay and who meet the eligibility criteria in the organization's financial assistance policy (fap). For community benefit purposes, financial assistance is reported in terms of costs, not charges, financial assistance does not include bad debt and discounts not described by the fap (for example, discounts provided to self-pay patients and/or services ineligible for financial assistance).
