Programs
4 programs
In 2024, we started a new program called the motivational interviewing community connections (micc) which is a series of 2 or 3 hour workshops facilitated by current members of mint. The content is created on the foundation of motivational interviewing and these programs are open to the general public, with the intention of spreading mi across the globe (linked to our mission). In 2024 we put on 6 separate programs from january through october, with 248 attendees that were members from mint and 169 attendees from the general public, totaling 417.
The trainer certification program recognizes members of mint who have demonstrated a high level of excellence as a motivational interviewing trainer through the ability to provide high-quality training of motivational interviewing based on the most current language, effective teaching techniques and course content as measured by the motivational interviewing trainer assessment and development tool (mi-tad), a rating scale developed to measure mi training competency. In 2024 there were 11 members from the us, canada, south korea, and sweden who successfully completed the fee-based application cycle.
The public service fund (psf) supports mint's vision of expanding the reach of mi (motivational interviewing) to underserved populations and communities. The psf funds are intended for individuals who live in areas with no or few mi trainers; who are from less developed countries; who are from underrepresented populations in mint; or who might be experiencing financial hardship to attend a train new trainers, forum, or pre-forum training. In 2024 the psf assisted 8 individuals from 6 different countries located across north america; south, east and southeast asia; and oceania.
