Our Southwest Healthcare District Client Services Program serves all other residents of our community that do not have children ages 0-5, including families with teens, veterans, single adults, and seniors. Some of the services provided include referrals to county services, utility and rental assistance, an emergency food pantry, and providing hygiene/PPE items. In 2024, we served approximately 1200 individuals through this program. It is funded by the local Southwest Healthcare District, which has a charge to advance health and safety in our mountain communities.
Our Emergency Food & Shelter Program serves any resident of our community who needs support to maintain food, prevent homelessness, or keep their residence habitable. Services include rental assistance, utility assistance, and market gift vouchers for food. In 2024, we served approximately 200 individuals through this program. It is funded through a federal FEMA grant via United Way of Kern County.
Other Program Services include PMC Seniors Fund, Toys 4 Tots, Thanksgiving Dinners, LDS Humanitarian Unsheltered Grant, Kern Family Health Care community grant, First 5 DHS grant, Food Pantry Program funded by both Sempra Energy Foundation and Zions Bancorporation, and Vaccine Equity grant.
