MountainCare provides supportive and enriching Adult Day Services enabling older adults to age in place. We aspire to be an unwavering partner for adults and those who care for them.

Programs

MountainCares Mountain Explorers program offers therapeutic recreation and community based enrichment activities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, promoting independence, socialization, and skill-building in a supportive environment. The program operates in Buncombe County as an extension of the Adult Day Program and served 135 adults in FY24.

MountainCares Caregiver Support Program provides education, resources, and emotional support to individuals caring for older adults or people with disabilities, helping reduce caregiver stress and improve care outcomes. All caregivers with participants in the Adult Day and Mountain Explorer programs are eligible.
