Mission
The Multicultural Institutes (MI) mission is to accompany immigrants in their transaction from poverty and isolation to workforce participation and prosperity. MI offers programs that benefit immigrants and low-income families in accessing education, health, immigration, and legal resources, along with job placement assistance and basic service needs.

Mentoringfor Academic Success (MAS) Program Since 1999, the MAS program has assisted students in reaching academic proficiency and in cultivating an early interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM). The program serves students primarily from West Berkeley. Approximately 30 youth benefit from this after-school program each year.
