The muncie sports commission oversees the fieldhouse classic (previously known as the city of champions). The fieldhouse classic is a high school boys basketball tournament designed to highlight muncie's rich basketball history.
The muncie sports commission hosted the inaugural delaware county high school athletic awards show. The event was created to recognize the high school players of the year for various sports, coaches of the year, scholar-athletes of the year, and a mental attitude award.
