Mission
The municipal band of charlottesville,dba the charlottesville band, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to exellence in the performance of high quality band and ensemble music. The band serves to entertain, uplift and inspire the communities of charlottesville and surrounding counties in virginia, providing musical entertainment and education through free public concerts, varied repertoire and partnerships. The band owns and operates the municipal arts center in charlottesville which serves the community for local arts and other nonprofit groups.

In addition to a rehearsal hall, office and storage facility for the band, the municipal arts center is offered for lease to service clubs, educational organizations, musical and dance groups, school groups and others. Rental agreements are inexpensive and tailored to nonprofit organizations.
