The harvard fellows program and the buntin scholars program will enable the teachers to develop educational objectives which can then be shared with other educators in the public school system,enhancing the quality of education the students receive. The foundation provides funding to teacher of the year nominees that would not have been received through the public school budget.

Through the recognition of excellent teachers, using the teacher of the year program, the foundation hopes to promote morale and professionalism of teachers and promote teaching as a profession to be considered by students entering college.
