The Museum Foundation of Pacific Grove, Inc. operates the Museum of Natural History, founded in 1883 and housing over 45,000 artifacts owned by the City of Pacific Grove. Today, the Museum serves as a hub for scientific and historical learning for over 40,000 people each year through exhibitions of collection objects, education programs, and community events.

Exhibitions: Since its beginning in 1883, the Museum has excelled at teaching the public about the natural world through a variety of exhibitions displaying monarch butterflies, local birds and wildlife, geology, and cultural artifacts to name a few. This fiscal year the museum hosted several temporary exhibits including "Kelp Grizzlies: The Secret lives of Otters","140 Year Anniversary", "Towards Equality: California's Chinese American Women and Illustrating Nature".
