In 2024, mosi continued to offer diverse steam exhibits, including mission moonbase, saunders planetarium, and interactive sports science exhibits like slippery science, a collaboration with the tampa bay lightning. Mosi focused on refurbishing exhibits and creating and adding new permanent exhibits such as dino-dig, history of flight aviation maze, and drone zone. (see schedule o for continuation)the museum introduced four new traveling exhibits: dc superheroes, which explored science and technology themes through beloved comic book characters; amazing butterflies, highlighting the life cycle and migration of butterflies; brick dinos, featuring life-size dinosaur models built entirely from interlocking, pocket-sized, building bricks; and grossology, which allowed visitors to explore the fascinating, albeit "gross" functions of the human body.mosi introduced three new permanent exhibits in 2024, expanding its educational offerings. Additionally, in partnership with suncoast credit union, mosi added the permanent drone zone flight school, where guests can learn about drone technology and practice piloting skills in a dedicated space.mosi's idea zone, tampa bay's makerspace, introduced a 3d printer, allowing guests to engage in hands-on technology and prototyping experiences. This collaboration demonstrated mosi's dedication to using steam education to address health-related issues and engage the public on important medical topics.in addition to health initiatives, mosi hosted several significant events focused on space science. In october and april, mosi organized solar eclipse events, inviting the public to witness and learn about these astronomical phenomena. These events attracted families, students, and astronomy enthusiasts, promoting public interest in space science and creating memorable community experiences.mosi also hosted a veteran's resource fair in partnership with blue star and semper fi america's fund. These events provided veterans and their families with access to critical resources, networking opportunities, and support services. The fair was part of mosi's ongoing commitment to supporting veterans and giving back to those who have served the country.furthering its dedication to supporting local youth, mosi continued its steam mentoring cafe for girls, connecting 400 title i elementary and middle school girls with professionals in steam fields.
