Mvm's satellite programs bring songwriting and recording programs to youth in day centers and treatment programs. In 2024 our satellite program worked with eight different partner facilities to reach 575 youth: * the trillium parry center and albertina kerr residential facilities, serving youth navigating mental health challenges.* sage, an intensive residential program for young women recovering from commercial sexual exploitation.continued on schedule o. * morrison child & family services' counterpoint, an outpatient program for boys who have experienced trauma and abuse and have exhibited problematic sexual behaviors. Counterpoint programming occurs onsite at mvm studios.* p:ear, a drop-in day center for homeless youth. Mvm provided a weekly workshop in their old town community space, and in fall 2024, began hosting regular recording workshops for p:ear youth at mvm studios.* the dougy center, a nonprofit that provides safe space where children, teens, young adults, and their families can share their experiences with death and grieving. Mvm provided summer camps and songwriting workshops at mvm studios.* nexus family healing, a residential youth mental health program that serves a small group (6-8 youth at a time). This partnership began in fall 2024.* circle of friends, in sisters, oregon, a mentorship program for youth to develop life and social skills. In 2024 we provided training in music curriculum to a local musician and supported a pop-up summer music camp.according to data collected from our program partners:* 100% of youth participants improved as musicians and spent more time making music.* staff reported that youth in our programs were better able to share their ideas and feelings and felt a stronger connection to their community.facilities staff also told us:* "i've heard from several kids now that music group with you is their favorite group at kerr... Like ever." - albertina kerr* "you guys rock! Thank you so much, and we're looking forward to this partnership growing." - nexus* "it helps our youth experience an inclusive activity that is positive and develops their skills for expression and healing." - counterpoint* "the program is inclusive. Many community activities are prohibitive due to the nature of the activity, cost, and other hurdles. Mvm works with us every time!" - sage

Mvm across oregon invests in trauma-informed youth music programs and teaching artists in rural communities across the state. In 2024 we ran pop-up camps for youth in deschutes county in collaboration with circle of friends and trained 1 facilitators. We invested in building networks with other rural partners and gathering feedback on how to respond to the unique culture and challenges of each community. After careful consideration, we are pausing mvm across oregon to focus on strengthening local programs and developing training resources that can be shared statewide, rather than staffing and managing programs in rural areas.
