Education - nami idaho educational courses include nami basics for parents, caregivers and other family who provide for youth up to age 22 who are experiencing mental health symptoms, nami family-to-family for family, significant others, and friends of people with mental health conditions, and nami peer-to-peer for adults with mental health conditions who are looking to better understand themselves and their recovery. All courses are taught by trained leaders with lived experience, can be in english or spanish, in-person or via virtual meeting, are free and confidential and evidence based, demonstrated to improve coping skills, problem solving skills, feelings of empowerment, decrease stigma regarding mental health conditions, and improve recovery outcomes for participants.

Advocacy nami idaho regularly presents to caregivers, first responders and law enforcement, students, faith communities, workforce and other groups to educate and reduce stigma regarding mental illness. We maintain an active social media presence and publish opinion pieces and blog articles to spur and elevate community discussions on issues related to mental illness. We work to educate policy makers and agency administrators and advocate, training grassroots advocates to tell their own stories as we do so. We participate in collaborative efforts locally, statewide, and regionally on behalf of those dealing with mental illness. We produce annual events to commemorate mental health awareness and recovery months, and an annual conference focused on education and fostering connection and collaboration.
