Peers peer- to- peer peer-to-peer (p2p) is a no-cost, 10-week educational program for adults (18+) with a mental health condition who are looking to better understand their condition and journey toward recovery. P2p is taught by a trained team of people who have experience living with a mental health condition. The program includes presentations, discussion, and interactive exercises. These groups are led by nami-trained facilitators with lived experience. Connection recovery support groups are unique because they follow a structured model to ensure that all group participants have an opportunity to be heard. The groups meet on a bi-weekly, weekly or monthly basis. Peer connector the peer connector program matches a person with a trained mentor, with lived experience, that can either be a family member or individual for 12 weeks of one-on-one connection. Day-to day situations drive weekly discussions with mentors. The peer connector program is designed to provide participants with individualized support, education, and skill-building knowledge that helps participants strengthen relationships community-base with their families, increase cooperation, and understand how to navigate the services. Nami connects offers an additional level of support in inpatient, hospital settings to patients and family members affected by mental illness. Nami connects staff includes individuals and family members of those affected by mental illness, and the staff works directly with hospital staff to help people in need. Mental health first aid mental health first aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. This 8-hour training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care. Adult mental health first aid gives community members the skills they need to reach out and provide initial support to individuals in-crisis or in-need of support, while connecting them to the appropriate care. Voices a unique opportunity to engage with an eye-opening consumer panel that highlights the lived experiences of individuals on their mental health journey.
