2. Grantmaking-Increased Senior Adult Food Security NHF allocated funds to increase food security among senior adults in the region. This program aimed to ensure that older adults had access to nutritious food, thereby improving their overall health and wellbeing. 3. Grantmaking-Disaster Response and Recovery Efforts Following Hurricane Helene In response to Hurricane Helene, NHF provided grants and capacity-building support to organizations involved in disaster response and recovery. These efforts included providing emergency housing options, support for housing restoration, ensuring safety for children whose families were impacted by the storm, providing emergency food and other supplies, support for farmers and local food systems, and offering mental health and recovery services to affected individuals. The program aimed to restore stability and improve the resilience of the impacted communities.

4. Leadership Program for Capacity Building NHF invested in the development and facilitation of a region-specific leadership program designed to support capacity building for its network of partners. This program focused on enhancing leadership skills, fostering collaboration, and promoting sustainable development within the community. The initiative included workshops/training sessions, and peer learning opportunities.
