Napaba advocates on issues important to the asian american, native hawaiian, and pacific islander (aanhpi) legal community by representing the views of its membership. Its policy work promotes equal opportunity, access to justice, and civil rights protections through education, coalition building, and direct engagement with policymakers. Additionally, napaba tracks and analyzes legislation and executive actions, submits comment letters, and joins amicus briefs. A key advocacy initiative is napaba's annual lobby day in washington, d.c., where members receive training and education on issues of concern to the legal profession and aanhpi community, including napaba's legislative priorities. Napaba also facilitates meetings between members and their respective elected officials. Topics generally included anti-asian hate, civil rights, immigration, and judicial nominations.
Napaba offers a variety of professional development, leadership, networking, mentoring, and pipeline programs that support asian pacific american attorneys at every stage of their careers. Signature initiatives include the in-house counsel summit, the partners summit, and the leadership advancement program. Napaba also provides cle-accredited trainings and webinars, mentorship opportunities, and networking events.in addition to its professional programming, napaba engages in advocacy on issues impacting the aanhpi community throughout the year. They include anti-asian hate, civil rights, and immigration. These efforts, together with napaba's annual convention and year-round initiatives, ensure meaningful opportunities for connection, advancement, and impact within the legal profession and beyond.
Napaba is a membership organization representing the interests of more than 80,000 attorneys, judges, law professors, and law students. Membership is comprised of individual members and over 90 affiliated bar associations located across the united states, canada, and u.s. Territories. Together, this network advances napaba's vision: to achieve optimal representation, success, and influence of aanhpi attorneys in every facet and level of the legal profession and beyond.
