Mission
The national association of flood & stormwater management agencies (nafsma) is an organization of public agencies whose function is the protection of lives, property and economic activity from the adverse impacts of storm and flood waters. The mission of the association is to advocate public policy, encourage technologies and conduct education programs which faciliate and enhance the achievement of the public service function of its members.

Nafsma presents information and materials supportive of the membership's positions to congress and administrative agencies. The association has been instrumental in the reauthorization efforts for the clean water act, the water resources development act, and other critical pieces of legislation.
Nafsma frequently works with other public interest groups and national trade associations located in washington, d.c. Sharing our interests. It serves as the liaison to these organizations to ensure the interests of the membership are well represented.
Provide continuing education and information for professionals in the fields of flood, floodplain and stormwater management.
