Champion training and support - womenheart provides initial certification training and ongoing training, both virtual and in-person, for women living with heart disease who serve as volunteer womenheart champions. These champions, are equipped to educate and support other women with or at risk of heart disease, represent womenheart at local and national events, and actively engage with the organization's reporting systems to track outreach and impact.
Patient support & education - womenheart provides education, information, and social/emotional support to women living with or at risk of heart disease through support group meetings, one-to-one peer connections, and patient visits. Support is offered both in-person and virtually, including through the sistermatch app, which connects women with heart disease for peer support. Womenheart's national hospital alliance (nha) engages hospitals committed to advancing women's heart health by providing access to leading educational materials, programs, and technical assistance to establish and maintain support. The nha ensures that women heart patients in every community have access to the information and support they need for improved outcomes. Womenheart's educational efforts delivers educational programs and resources for women living with or at risk of heart disease. These tools, including modules, fact sheets, videos, and guides, are accessible through womenheart's website, social media channels, and in group and one-to-one interactions.
Public policy - womenheart advocates for the millions of women living with or at risk of heart disease by advancing federal policies that protect and improve their health. Through various policy and legislative initiatives, womenheart raises awareness of the unique challenges women face in prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of heart disease.
