The committee had entered into a sponsorship agreement with pfizer, inc. To become a founding corporate sponsor for the united against diabetes campaign which ended during the year ended may 31, 2012. The agreement was for a five year program at a contribution amount of $350,000 per year to fund a study to develop screening and education programs for diabetes and related chronic diseases in hopes of improving the lives and reducing the long-term cost of health care. The committee agreed to maintain the temporarily restricted contributions in a separate bank account in the name of the united against diabetes campaign. These contributions are still held in a separate bank account as of may 31, 2024, and will continue to be segregated as temporarily restricted contributions to be released from restriction upon being disbursed in accordance with the original purpose of the agreement.during the year ended may 31, 2014, the committee began a pension relief project with goal of a creating a solution for safeguarding retirement security for multiemployer plan participants.
