Nche builds community across geography, teaching experience, and student populations through our annual conference. Teachers, who comprise most of the conference attendees, learn from one another in breakout sessions, and gather new content and skills from keynote speakers and exhibitors. Attendees can also participate in special workshops and excursions to historically significant places in the host city. In 2024, more than 500 people attended the annual conference in cleveland, ohio.

As a national organization serving teachers in every corner of the united states, we strive to provide resources that bolster educators' historical content knowledge and access to teaching materials. Our e-newsletter, history matters, is issued 10 times a year and provides links and articles to support classroom instruction. Additionally, nche maintains a database of dozens of recorded webinars on various historical topics, available for free to anyone. Members receive additional benefits, such as conference discounts and access to members-only resources. Nche maintains an active social media presence to bring attention to topics and events of interest.
