Support and development of quality, accessible, and culturally competent health servicesthe national council of urban indian health (ncuih) is a national 501(c)(3) organization devoted to the support and development of quality, accessible, and culturally competent health services for american indians and alaska natives (ai/ans) living in urban settings.

Public policy: ncuih leads targeted outreach and education efforts to inform policymakers and the public about the systemic changes needed to eliminate health disparities impacting urban american indian and alaska native (ai/an) communities. Each year, ncuih provides expert testimony before house and senate committees and participates in over 200 meetings with federal agencies, advisory bodies, and key stakeholders to advance policy priorities for urban ai/an health. In the past year, ncuih's advocacy directly contributed to securing millions in additional federal funding to support healthcare services for urban ai/an populations.
