Mission
The National Employment Opportunity Network Association (NEON) engages in a variety of activities to fulfill its purpose of: Advocating the enactment and continuation of federal tax incentives for hiring structurally unemployed individuals with few, if any, job skills or experience; and Ensuring that such incentives are properly administered by federal and state agencies once enacted. All of these activities commenced immediately upon NEONs formation on March 17, 1997, and have continued thereafter. These activities include legislative advocacy before the U.S. Congress, regulatory advocacy before the federal executive branch and state governments, and information sharing on issues of concern to NEON members among the membership and with policymakers, the press, and the general public. NEON also works with government entities on tax matters relating to work credits, incentives, and other issues that have a bearing on providing employment opportunities for all individuals.
