Shape the future. NHD inspires children through exciting competitions and transforms teaching through project-based curriculum and instruction.

Programs

2 programs

Summer Programs: Selected by the Library of Congress to develop several programs including two webinar series. NHD is also collaborating with ten master teachers to develop a teacher guide on using Library of Congress resources to support historical argumentation. In the Sacrifice for Freedom program, 16 student-teacher teams are studying World War II in the Pacific. NHD will travel to Honolulu, Hawaii in December 2021 to complete the program and honor the Silent Heroes the students have selected at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.

State program: To assist and develop the program at the state and local levels. This includes conducting conferences and training, on-site visits, workshops, contest attendance and assistance, and some monetary assistance.
